Software

For this tutorial you will be needing Unreal Engine and Adobe Photoshop. In Unreal Engine I expect you to know how to open en create a new project, how to import assets into the project, how to create and apply materials, and how to save your project. You should also have the Starter Content enabled. In Photoshop I expect you to know how to open and create new files, how to edit the size of an image/file, how to create layers, and how to save it.

References

When you’re going to make a shader, it’s very important to find references of what you want to make. If you don’t, you’re going to waste a lot of time trying to make something of which you don’t know what it is supposed to look like.

Some inspiration I will take with me while creating the shader.
